Riot police shoot tear gas at Hong Kong protesters who set fires and built barricades in the street

Tear gas was hurled towards protesters as they crouched with umbrellas to try to avoid the fumes enveloping Hong Kong this evening. Demonstrators used petrol bombs to start fires, it has been claimed.
